Welcome to Shipston-on-Stour Primary School, and thank you for taking the time to visit our school website. We hope that it gives you an idea of what school life is like at our popular and friendly school.
The school is a very short distance away from the centre of the town; our school is proud to be part of a close-knit and caring community. The school itself is set in extensive grounds, with lots of room to play and learn.
At Shipston, everyone is welcome. We prioritise children's safety, happiness and individuality every single day. All children are offered warmth and nurture - and are made to feel valued. We welcome, understand and embrace diversity. Everyone is valued and supported; we want every child to feel a sense of belonging, so that they can thrive and reach their unique potential.
We provide a fun, ambitious, broad and balanced curriculum, which serves to stimulate, challenge and engage all of our children. Our teachers are committed to equality and making adaptations to ensure every child can achieve well, by breaking down potential barriers to learning.
The school's values are to be kind, to be brave and to be responsible. Our school also places great value in 6 Cs (character, citizenship, collaboration, communication, creativity and critical thinking) as we believe these transferable skills will help them in primary school and beyond - in an ever-evolving world and society. We want all of our children to be kind, motivated, resilient, creative and empathic life-long learners, who are active and responsible citizens.
The school prides itself on using the Thrive approach, where adults devote their time to helping all children with developing their relationships, emotional regulation, self-esteem, confidence and so much more.
As well as offering a Breakfast Club, our families also make use of Splash, which is our after-school club. We also offer a wide range of extracurricular clubs after school; our children also have opportunities to participate in many sporting competitions (both internally and against other local schools). Annual music events on the calendar, like Young Voices and the Shipston Proms, are extremely popular.
We recognise how fortunate we are to have a very supportive community, and we know that a reciprocal trust and support, between home and school, is vital.
At Shipston, everyone is welcome; everyone is valued; everyone is supported so that everyone can thrive.
